Our Story

Founded in 2018, Black Hills IT Services, LLC (BHITS) was born out of frustration with traditional IT Managed Service Providers. Since then, BHITS has experienced rapid growth by focusing on improving customer experiences and delivering comprehensive IT services to businesses that want to concentrate on what they do best—without the burden of managing IT themselves. We noticed that many companies were forced to work with multiple providers to meet their IT needs, and those providers often didn’t take the time to truly understand their business. As a result, customers were left to trust companies that didn’t always have their best interests at heart, with no clear way of ensuring they weren’t being taken advantage of.

Dennis Seyersdahl - Owner

Dennis Seyersdahl is an accomplished IT professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. His guiding principle is simple: customer service comes first. While highly skilled in IT, Dennis considers himself primarily a "Customer Service Professional," transforming subpar IT experiences into successful and thriving ones. His ability to deliver long-term, productive results for clients has earned him a strong reputation, particularly among small businesses, non-profit organizations, and other companies that benefit from his tailored IT solutions.

Dennis's expertise extends beyond just IT support—he provides valuable consultations that help secure and strengthen business environments. His opinions are highly respected, and his clients trust his judgment because of his commitment to helping them achieve peace of mind in their IT operations. 

Dennis earned his BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems in 2011, followed by two master’s degrees—an Executive MBA and an MSM in Project Management. Throughout his academic and professional journey, he developed a strong passion for supporting small businesses, focusing on ways to offer them high-quality IT solutions that are often out of reach for smaller companies.

This passion led him to start his own business, where he not only provides IT services but also resells hardware and software to better meet his clients' needs. Over the past four years as a business owner, Dennis has worked tirelessly to find the best solutions for small businesses, helping them succeed by providing tailored support and advice.

Dennis is driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the small business community, and his long-term goal is to build a nationally recognized company known for its dedication to helping small businesses thrive. He is always open to new challenges, discussions, and collaborations with industry leaders, constantly seeking ways to improve and innovate.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dennis also values family time and serving others. He gives back to his community through church service and teaching at colleges and training institutions, where he shares his passion for IT and customer service. His mission is centered on helping people, whether through his business or personal endeavors, and this dedication continues to drive his success.
